Gala 2016 in the books

And there it is…our 5th Gala in the books. This year, we tried something a little different. We went with a murder mystery and have everyone come in a character. It was so much fun to see everyone mix and mingle and put their own twist on their character. I was so impressed on the effort everyone put into the event.

We started the Gala as a way for us to get together outside of the gym setting. It is a chance to get dressed up, meet spouses (if they aren’t members) and get to hang out on a different level. It also allows the whole community to get to meet and know each other as many have specific training times and might not see them otherwise.

Another tradition that we have implemented is recognizing one male and one female athlete as our community leaders. These individuals exemplify what we see our community as. They are people who push hard in the gym. They always have a smile on their face. They have no ego and wish for the success of their peers more than their own. They are coachable and make coming to the gym awesome for everyone. This years recipients were Brandy Sokolosky and Nick Korchinski. Thank you both for making 306 a better place. You guys are the best!

Lastly, I think that this party is a great way to let loose a little. We share great food, drinks, lots of laughs and some pretty epic dance moves. Thank you to all of our 306 members that make our community the best there is. Until next year…
