306 lifters are national class!

This past weekend in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia, two of 306's finest competed at the National Master's Weightlifting Championships.

Kaley Pugh earned a bronze medal at her first national championships.  Kaley was three kilos back from the leader at the conclusion of the snatch.  She opened conservatively in the clean and jerk ensuring a total and a podium finish.  She then went on to hit a clutch second lift putting her back in contention to win it all.  It took some strategic maneuvering to allow her other opponents to lift first ultimately allowing her the last lift and a chance to become a national champion.  Unfortunately she was unable to clean her last lift and finished the day with a bronze medal.

Coach Jay returned to his third National Master's Championships having won his first two in 2013 and 2014 and as the current national record holder in the clean and jerk.  As expected he outdistanced the field in the clean and jerk.  He secured his victory on the first lift and continued on to make his next two attempts at increasing weights finishing with a 142kg/312lbs clean and jerk to finish with a perfect 6/6 on his lifts.

This concludes our weightlifting season.  Our next season  starts up in mid August.  Please email Jason directly at jason@reebokcrossfit306.com if you are interested in joining us next year.
