Check-in

Week 1 check in - how did the first week go? Did you find it challenging? Did you stick to your plan or deviate "just a little"? Take a minute today and reflect on your week. Look at what actually happened vs. what you intended to happen. Maybe you were perfect - stay the course. Maybe, you found it really hard to track or to stay in your budget. It's okay - now that you are aware of where your challenges are, you can focus on them in the coming week to get you closer to your goal. Remember, it is all about learning about yourself and your spending habits and then tweaking them so that they align with your long term goals. ⁠ ⁠

My week was good and I tried a few new tactics to see if I can keep my grocery bill in check. I ordered fish from a local fisherman (through my brother-in-law) and I also went to Costco for a smaller grocery list. I usually only go when I need everything and then it cost's $700. It was nice to go, grab some fresh produce and leave. For the rest of the month, I will only need to buy my fresh food as I have enough protein for the month, so I am hopeful that I can stay on budget. I do realize that it is a challenge for me to stick to my shopping days. I am a people pleaser, so when someone asks if I could just grab something quick, I would always say, "yes" and then grab a couple more things along the way. It's these little things that add up. ⁠ ⁠ I hope that you have the chance to get outside today and enjoy some of this amazing January weather that we have been getting.
