306 Takes on Vancouver!

"It will hurt.  It will take time.  It will require dedication.  It wil require will power.  You will need to make healthy decisions.  It requires sacrifice.  You will need to push your body to its max.  There will be tempation.  But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's worth it."

That about sums up what each of the athletes competing in Vancouver had to do over the past 6 months (and then some).  It started with the Open where everyone pushed each other to get one more rep on a WOD.  The whole gym worked together to push our individual athletes and to qualify our team to compete at Canada West Regionals in Vancouver this weekend.  When all the dust settled, the 4 men and 4 women that ranked highest in the open were named to represent 306 as a team.  6 of those athletes are going to throwdown with 7 difficult WODs that test gymnastics, skills, strength and stamina.  Ty P is leading the team of Aaron P, Rob W, Maddi W, Viki C, and Sam M to what we hope to be a podium finish.  They have trained hard and been focused.  They have pushed through, even when they didn't want to and did it with a smile on their face.  I am proud to train with and coach these athletes and I couldn't be happier to have them representing our 306 community!   You guys are ready - enjoy the experience - we will be cheering for you!!

I am proud to stay that my pretty awesome husband will also be competing as an individual this weekend.  There is some tough competition out there, but I know first hand how hard Jason has trained and prepared for this weekend.  Jason trains with purpose and passion, no matter what it is.  He is always trying to be a better athlete, student and coach.  I am excited to cheer him on and watch him compete - Ge get 'em babe!!

A special thank you to Marc Morris and Jason who worked together to program the training to ensure that everyone would be ready this weekend.  It is not an easy task, but one they work hard at to ensure we can get the best training out there...THANK-YOU!!

You can catch the action on the games site - games.crossfit.com.  They will be streaming the events live.  The teams will be competing in the morning and individuals at night.  I will send updates as well, so that you know how everyone is doing.

Finally, a thank you to our whole community!  Thatk your for training so hard and pushing each of us to be our best.  Thank you to Jeff, Cory, Beth and Sarah who will be coaching while we are away.  We couldn't do it without each of you!  One Team, One Program, One Community!!  Now, let's go do this!!!
