SAD tip #5 - Watch for signs that it is getting worse
There are so many things that can play into our mental state. Seriously, 2020 can be enough to have anyone lose their marbles. If you find that you are really struggling to get out of your "funk", it might be time to talk with someone.
I love therapy - I think it is great and that people should totally go when they can. As a young couple, Jason and I went to therapy. We (as a couple) were actually good, but circumstances in our life had spiraled out of control and to be honest, we just didn't know what to do and it was affecting our relationship. We loved each other, but didn't have the tools that we needed to deal with the issues and circumstances that were being thrown at us.
Therapy gave us tools and someone to talk to that was neutral to our situation to guide us and help us see things that we couldn't. I am so grateful for each time that I have gone to therapy. It has allowed me to process feelings and emotions that I really didn't know what to do with.
There are many good therapists out there and if you aren't sure who you should see, talk to your doctor or send me a DM. I can give you a name of someone that I use. You are not weak to ask for help. Asking for help makes you strong. Think of getting a therapist like you would hiring a personal trainer. You just need a little extra help - good for you for getting it.
