The 306 2 on 2 Basketball showdown!
North American Powerlifting Championships
Hey you liftiing fans,
Next week our 306 lifters will be taking on international competitors at this year's North American Championships in Moose Jaw SK. You can watch our lifters as early as Wednesday July 8 with Amy Smith hitting the platform first. On Thursday Jessie Byudens and Brandee Borne will have their turn along with our first male competitor coach Kent Brown. Resident prodigee Paul Farbacher will conclude the event on Saturday looking to break some World records but not before coach Marc Morris tries to take the podium on Friday.
With Moose Jaw only a few hours away this is a great opportunity to witness some World Class lifting and cheer on some of our very own 306 athletes.
Lift big guys!

Good Luck Coach!!
Well, it is finally here..."Super Regionals". It's funny, I feel relieved and I haven't had to put in the 4-5 hours of training in a day;). I have gone to cheer Jason on at every Regionals since 2009. It is crazy how things have changed over the years and a real privilege to be a part of CrossFit through all the growth. I remember in 2009, you could just sign up to compete at Regionals. No qualifiers, no real expectations or pressure - just kind of a fun day working out. It's still a fun (now 3 days) of working out, but the road to get there is much more challenging.
I have been with Jason for 15 years now and we have undertaken a variety of sporting endeavors. Jason has always been a source of inspiration for me. I always find it incredible to watch him go through the process of achieving a goal he sets forward. He never makes excuses...EVER! If he has a bad WOD or result, he doesn't look to blame a judge, or a standard or HQ for throwing a curve ball. He looks at it as a weakness then attacks it to make it a strength. He doesn't back away from a challenge or hard work (which is probably why we get to cheer him on this weekend). He has trained with focus and determination over the past few months and taken on some crazy volume. I have watched a number of members of the community step up daily to do a workout with him, so he doesn't have to do it alone. It has been a beautiful thing to see...ONE - community and team come together to achieve a goal. Thank you all for that!
Now, I get to make Jason blush (just a little maybe). Jason, you are in the best condition and the most prepared I have ever seen you. You have hit PR's and you have fought through rips, tweaks and tears to get to this moment. You have sacrificed, gotten stronger, fitter and faster. You have been an inspiration to watch and a great example of perseverance and dedication. Now, you get to go into your 'happy place' on the competition floor. The work is done...306 is cheering louder than ever for you...YOU GOT THIS!!
Now, we leave in a few hours and I really do suck at social media, but I promise that I will keep you posted daily (after that, I am probably going to suck at it again). I will let Jeff know what's happening and he can keep you in the loop as well. You can watch the action at games.crossfit.com. Have a great weekend; train hard and we will see you on Tuesday!

Kent Brown - New PL coach
It is with great excitment that Reebok CrossFit 306 would like top officially welcome Kent Brown as part of our coaching staff. Kent has been part of 306 for over three years, and continously demostrates the "Community above all else" mantra that we preach. Kent has become an excellent powerlifter over the last couple years, taking silver at the national championships in both 2014 and 2015.
Kent will now be helping our powerlifters reach new heights, and help all 306 members improve their lifts. Kent will work closely with Marc Morris who will continue to provide the strategic direction for our Powerlifting club. Please join me in welcoming Kent to the 306 coaching team.

Kent Brown:
I grew up in a small town, Zealandia, about an hour west of Saskatoon. Ever since I can remember I've always been a very competitive and an aggressive person in any sports that I played. Growing up I played hockey, football, soccer really anything that was a contact sport. Being smaller, only 5'7 on a good day and weighing 150 pounds, I was always looking to get stronger so I could be competitive with my larger competitors.
After high-school sports were over my focus on fitness really started to decline and I was your regular guy trying to go to the gym 3 times a week and hitting chest every day and no legs.
In the winter of 2012 I found Reebok Crossfit 306 which allowed my competitive spirt to once again come out and slowly began to rebuild my body and core after years of improper training. Around 8 months later, the gym started its power lifting program and I was hooked and have rarely missed a training session since then.
Achievements:
2014 National Power Lifting Championship - 2nd place
2014 Western Canadian Power Lifting Championship - 2nd place
